Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Gale Woods Farm
The one where my brother-in-law gets married
and I gain a 9th sister
yes, 9th.
Caleb and Steph COUWENHOVEN (My beautiful brother and sister-in-laws!) were married at Gale Woods Farm last September. Gale Woods Farm is a wedding and event venue located in Minnetrista, MN and is part of the Three Rivers Park District. If you are looking for outdoor wedding venues - any and all Three Rivers Park District venues that I have been to are incredibly beautiful and each have their own scenic outdoor locations for ceremonies, and a conveniently located chalet, building, or open-barn-type area for the reception, depending on which park you are at. Here is a full list of Three Rivers Park wedding venues - I have been to multiple and honestly have nothing but good things to say! (My personal favorites are Gale Woods Farm, Elm Creek Park, and Silverwood Park. Gale Woods Farm has llamas!!! Say less, right?!) Definitely check them out if you are planning an outdoor wedding ceremony within the Twin Cities!
Sometimes I attend family weddings as a guest, and sometimes I get to be the wedding photographer! Today I was the photographer. We started out the day at a hotel in Bloomington with Steph and her bridesmaids. Caleb and Steph wanted to first see each other down the aisle, so they did their getting ready photos in different places. Then, we headed to Gale Woods Farm for some photos before the ceremony. The ceremony space at Gale Woods Farm is on a pavilion that overlooks Whaletail Lake. The view of the lake is incredible because you are pretty high up compared to where the lake is. It feels like you can see for miles. It is a short walk from the pole barn area where the reception was held, and on the way back to the reception you pass the llamas. The walk is worth it!
Congrats Caleb and Steph! Have fun writing Couwenhoven for the rest of your life, Steph. The last name Couwenhoven is great… it doesn’t take up much time to write it out or learn how to spell it at all… your kids will love it…
