Chasing Waterfalls + Sunsets at Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis

You know when you see these really epic landscapes people have around them and you think to yourself, "If only I lived there, with mountains, canyons and cliffs where you can see for miles..."  I mean I'd be such a cooler photographer.

Special thanks to Missy and Mark for showing me the light. We did their engagement photos at Minnehaha Falls just outside of Minneapolis, which is a huge (for Minnesota) waterfall right outside the city! Only a few miles from downtown! It’s weirdly tucked away in a regional park. You can access it by biking, walking, or driving. In the winter it fully freezes, because Minnesota winters are rather extreme. In the summer it flows freely and is a pretty major tourist location. Minneapolis parks for the win!

We ended the engagement session at sunset right along the waterfall where the light was making a cool tunnel right to where I wanted Missy and Mark to stand. It felt like this heavenly moment and for short time all was right in the world.

Congrats Missy and Mark!

I’ve got dreams that keep me up in the dead of night. Tellin’ me I wasn’t made for the simple life.
